Grabert To: puffin@esiee.fr Subject: Hardware-List Hi, I just wanted to update some information about the C240: It's working smoothly, everything is supported: - both SCSI - 10/100Mbit Network - STIcon/STIfb (latter only if you have a Visualize-EG!) - serial console - Harmony audio - PCI cards - Poweroff button So far every kernel option i tried (different filesystems etc.) worked I'm using 2.4.18-pa16, and both 32bit and 64bit are working. Though 64bit doesn't make sense right now because of the lack of a 64bit userland, the 64bit kernel supports everything the 32bit does! I personally just have a problem with the LED driver (not working on the latter kernels, both 32bit and 64bit), bit this doesn't really hurt ;) Some information about 730: I tried it long time ago (when there were no isos) and it worked after applying a patch to the kernel that was posted on the mailing lists (fixing kernel traps for this kind of cpu). At that time STIcon was not working properly, so i had to use the serial console. SCSI and Network was working. I tried to install the 0.9.3-iso, but because of the lack of a SCSI-terminator (I sold it), there were SCSI-errors while installing (I remember this kind of errors!). At least i can confirm that the kernel booted fine and STIcon was working. BTW, if you browse the mailing list, you'll find a mail of a user that successfully installed 0.9.3 on a 730, and IIRC is also running X on it! Maybe EISA is also working now ... Moreover the 730 is basically a 720 with a faster CPU (more clockspeed, but the same CPU type), and one EISA interface, nothing more. AFAIK there is no other differences between a 720 and a 730 ;) A 750 is has again a faster CPU and more EISA/GSC slots (and thus a different tower case), but shouldn't be that different from a 720/730. greetings, Max Grabert PS: feel free to publish this mail or shorten it!
