The project PA/Linux is originally due to a group of kernel hackers inspired by the PA-RISC processor. Our participation consists mostly in improving the Linux
kernel PA-RISC machines, and we also try to help application support for the PA-RISC platform (the "porting" effort). However, the main problem like everywhere else is the money. In fact, we all are volunteer and the passion do not give you automatically the funds to buy the supplies for our systems maintainance, and to cover the related expenses. Given the very low budget (~0$), our team has to find partners in order to work with the adequate hardware. We can't afford the cost of purchase and maintenance of our own computers and network connections. We rely on the donation of equipment and services from our partners.
