Ubuntu is a Debian-based distribution (see the website), which currently supports 3 architectures.

The aim of that project is to get Ubuntu to the HPPA platform. This project is not sponsored by Canonical (the founders of Ubuntu), nor is it considered as a potential target by the Ubuntu community for now.

This project is driven by a bunch of PA-RISC addicts who think Ubuntu is a great distribution that would be very cool to have running on their PA-RISC machines. At that point it is not clear yet whether HPPA will ever be officially supported by Ubuntu. Still, in any case, we plan to keep up to date with the current state of Ubuntu, using our limited resources.

Those interested in helping and getting their name written in the digital marble of our hall of fame can take a look at the TODO list.
